Swing Out Rockford 2009

The 7th Annual Swing Out Rockford featuring The Thomas Gunther Trio will be held Saturday, July 25th, 2009 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Rockford, IL. Lessons will be offered from 8-9pm with dancing to live music from 9pm-12am. Cost is $10 at the door.

Forest City Swing is as non-profit group. The net proceeds from the event and the net proceeds collected at weekly Thursday night swing dancing is donated to two charities in Rockford: The Rockford Rescue Mission and Rockford Sharefest.

Lindy Workshops Saturday, June 20th

We ask that everyone arrive early for the workshops as we will start on time. If you are late for the Lindy Hop workshop you will have a difficult time catching up to the group.

9:00-12:00 Beginning Lindy Hop

You will learn the basic swing-out, frame, footwork and a couple moves. This workshop will be very intense so be prepared to learn. Wear tennis shoes or dance shoes and comfortable clothes.

1:30- 4:30 Intermediate Lindy Hop

Intermediate workshop will have some review of the swing-out and footsteps, but most of the workshop will be focused on different moves and performing them properly. This workshop is for those who already know the basic swing-out and have been dancing the Lindy Hop for a while.

Pay at the door

Beginning Lindy: $20.00 per person

Intermediate Lindy: $25.00 per person

Both workshops: $40.00 per person
